" When I came to Rethink, I had been dealing with PTSD for around five years. Been in and out of therapy, tried my hand at a bevy of SSRIs at the request of my primary care physician, but it was just to treat the symptoms associated with my condition. When I sat down with Karen she actually explained to me the mechanisms of PTSD and how and why it was affecting me the way it does. She prescribed medication that allowed me to sleep soundly for the first time in half a decade, and after completing treatment with her and Jackie I was almost my old self. I was able to function again and go more than five minutes without reliving my trauma. While my trauma prevents me from doing some things, I'm now at a point where I can accept it, and more importantly feel optimistic about my future as I look for a different path forward. I feel like I could write an entire book about the level of care, respect, and treatment I received while coming here. I don't think I will ever be able to thank them enough for the help they provided me."
" I've struggled with depression all my life. I was at one of my lowest points when a friend got me to Karen. Karen changed my life. I can honestly say she saved my life. In our first session, I felt that she intuitively knew me, she saw me. She put words to my feelings of desperation. She also gave me a vision for who I could be, reminded me of who I really am without the depression, and gave me hope with a treatment plan that was holistic and new. She encouraged me and gently nudged me through the early days and weeks of my care when it was hard to even want to care for myself. It's been a few months and I am not just better, I am happy. Content and calm and happy. I have hope that depression will not be my story going forward. Thank you, Karen, from the depths of my soul."
"Beyond Amazing!!!! I can’t say enough about Karen and the impact she has made in my quality of life."
"After spending nearly 13 years in city EMS, we are taught to be emotionless. Expected to go from critical call to critical call with no time in-between to heal or even think. We are made to feel shamed if we "can't handle it." I had one call that sent me over the edge.
I've worked with Karen throughout the majority of our professional careers. Never in my life have I worked with another healthcare provider that treats every single patient with the thoughtfulness and care that Karen does. Her bedside manner in which she practices as an NP is nothing short of exceptional.
I've never wanted to see a therapist because I had this idea that "they don't know what it's like to see that stuff" - Karen does. Her ER and flight nurse experience sets her aside from any other mental health provider. She has listened to me spill my heart out, understanding every little bit of what I've explained to her, and reassuring me that I am not alone. Whether its treatment with medication, or just someone to talk to and understand your pain, she'll find the best option for you, and I mean THE BEST. I have never felt as mentally healthy in my life as I do now, and I have no one but Karen to thank for that.
To say she saves lives in an understatement. There is really no better person to have by your side, as a therapist, and as a friend. I cannot recommend ReThink enough <3"
"Karen truly cares about her patients and individualizes her care. She makes herself available for those times of crises."
